Lifelong Skins Fan Tackles Blood Cancer - Hogs Haven

Image004_mediumAn inspiring story about the power of football in helping overcome adversity in all aspects of life. The video features Tommy Cleaver, a DC resident, ten year Leukemia survivor and former National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete. Cleaver was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) during the preseason of his sophomore year at Middlebury College. However, he responded well to his treatment, was able to return to the field and continues to win his daily battle.

For ten years he has kept his experiences close, but is now sharing his story in an inspiring commitment to advance blood cancer research through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society?s Man & Woman of the Year Campaign ? an organization supported by Brian Orakpo and Bobby Mitchell. With only 11 days remaining in the fundraising competition, Cleaver is looking to raise a significant amount of money that can be applied to a quantifiable result: to help extend the opportunity he has been given to someone else.
