The Coalition to March on the RNC announced today it had received a permit from Tampa to march along the city?s designated parade route on the first morning of next month?s Republican National Convention.

At 10 a.m. on Monday August 27 groups will gather at Perry Harvey Sr. Park, 1200 N. Orange Ave. About a half-mile away they'll march along the 11-block official parade route. It ends three blocks from the Tampa Bay Times Forum, the site of the convention. That?s where one of the designated protest areas is. The city is calling the fenced parking lot a ?public viewing area.? At recent conventions similar areas have been called ?free speech zones.?

Other groups, like Occupy Tampa and ResistRNC have said they would not apply for permits to march or assemble in designated protest of the Republican convention.

Here?s the parade route.

Here?s more information about the city?s so-called "Event Zone," previously called a ?Clean Zone.?

Here's all of WMNF News? RNC coverage.
