Sharing Sippys - Adoption.com Forums

Lol Servnjah, you just hit on one of my biggest pet peeves: letting kids walk around with a cup of drink. It isn't like they will die of thrist in the next 30 minutes.

To the OP, it's just part of teaching them not to pick up other other people food,or whatever, so with the cups, I don't make them readily available. They really don't need water or juice every 5 minutes. When they get their cups, they have to sit at the table to eat or drink. Food and drink is only found in the kitchen/dining area. Not in the living room, play room or bedroom. This really cuts down on not only drinking from the wrong cup, but also clean up in general and teaches them that food happens in a particular place at specified times.

I lysol toys at the end of the day. It's impossible to keep kids from moving saliva from their own mouths to toys, hands, etc, but by spraying them every day, it at least helps keep that spreading down. I also use hand sanitizer, but only within reason. Hand washing and having kleenex readily available also helps keep the kids from spreading germs as much.

When I had 3 under 3 yrs old, I was cleaning up so much to keep colds from spreading that my hands became dry and cracked so I invested in a good hand cream to stop that.
